About Our School Council
The school council consists of 19 members, a link teacher and play support assistant. We meet every week on Wednesday from 1.00 to 1.30 pm to discuss different issues.
The children in all classes elect all the councillors from year 1 to year 4, in the September of the school year. Their term of office is for a year. They have a ballot and choose two people from their class who have the right qualities to be on the council. A councillor has to be a role model to others in the school, be a good listener and offer ideas and suggestions as a speaker.
Once members have been elected, the executive members are then chosen. The executive council consists of a chairperson, a secretary, a treasurer and a vice chairperson and a minimum of 10 class representatives.

The Council meetings are organised by the children, they draw up their own agenda, and questions must be addressed towards the chairperson not the adults. The whole school contributes by talking to a council member or putting their ideas in the suggestion boxes around the school. After each meeting each class members feeds back to their class what is happening in the school. |
The children have a notice board for the School Council which keeps everyone informed of who their representatives are, and what they are doing .
