Crystal Growing Competition
The children who attended Crystal Growing Science Club grew a crystal which won 3rd place in the Eastern Region Competition.
Substainable Schools
We were honoured to be nominated as a finalist for the East of England Teaching Awards for Substainable Schools. As a finalist in June 2008 our work towards being a Substainable School stood out in a field of over 8400 nominations and we were placed as runner up and given a 'distinction'.
Investors in People
We were awarded Investors in People status for the second time in January 2008. The key findings of the assessment were considered to be so strong that we were put forward to be 'Champion Investors' when our practice will be shared with other schools.

The Marjorie Boxall Quality Mark Award
In December 2007 we became the first lower school in Bedfordshire to achieve an award for outstanding practice in a Nurture Group. The Marjorie Boxall Quality Mark Award is testomony to the support and quidance that we offer children who find it particulary difficult to access the curriculum.

Arts Mark Silver Award
ArtsMark is an award given by the Arts Council to schools that demonstrate a commitment to providing opportunities across all art forms from music to drama and dance to painting. At Putnoe, we recognise the importance of the arts and give pupils opportunities to get involved with a range of arts activities with arts practitioners, after school clubs, and art within the wider community.
In June 2004, Mrs Flook and Miss Penny accompanied two Year 4 pupils to a special ceremony at Gordon Craig theatre in Stevenage, where the puils received the Silver Artsmark Award on behalf of the school.
