Here is our latest newsletter:
Welcome to the Spring edition of the Eco Schools Newsletter. This term the children have been working hard collecting paper from around the school to recycle – thanks again to everyone who brings in newspapers on a regular basis to be recycled.
Thanks for supporting WOW. (Walk on Wednesday). In a recent report the Department of Transport claimed that over 50% of children get driven to school. This trend is contributing to childhood obesity, urban congestion and air pollution. WOW addresses these issues by encouraging pupils to reconsider their school journey and enjoy the many benefits of walking.
If you consider your journey to school too long to be able to walk all the way, why not try parking a few streets further away than you normally do, and try walking from there? Just to let you know that we will be holding a WOW day every Wednesday next half term!
So far we have collected 4,226 leaves as part of the Generation Green reward system. Thanks to Kirstie Pooley, James Towle and Lisa Orme who completed an energy savers report on line and therefore donated 50 leaves to the school.
