Meet the governors of Putnoe Lower School!

Mr Ian Andrews - Chair of Governors

Mrs Gill Peck - Headteacher/Staff Governor
I have been Headteacher at Putnoe Lower School for two years now and have enjoyed being part of such a dedicated and talented team of staff, governors and parents. We are extremely proud of all our accomplishments both within the curriculum and through a wide range of extra-curricular activities as our website demonstrates.

In any spare time I love to cook and try out new recipies and spend time tending to my garden.

Mrs Sheila Cracknell - Community Governor

I am pleased to become part of Putnoe Lower school as a Community Governor. I live in Putnoe and attend Putnoe Heights Church so I have an interest in R.E and caring for others. My other hobbies include Music,Walking and Animals.

Having spent more than 30 yrs teaching in Secondary/Upper Schools in Bedford and 2 yrs in Uganda. I now have some time in my retirement to help with local projects.

Jenny Coast - Community Governor

I have only recently become a governor at the school and I am looking forward to my new role very much. I have lived in Goldington for nearly 30 years and my daughters both attended local schools. I taught geography/leisure and tourism in secondary schools and colleges in Bedfordshire and for the last 10 years of my working life I was mainly involved in teacher training. I ran the Brownie Pack at Holy Cross from 1978 to 2006 and still help out on an occasional basis. I continue to have a strong commitment to Guiding activities in Bedfordshire. I enjoy gardening, hill walking, swimming and travelling and now I am retired I have the time to pursue my hobbies further.

Linda Hadfield - Clerk to the Governors
I have been the Clerk to the Governors at Putnoe since September 2006. I started Clerking because it seemed like an interesting part-time job that I could do from home. I am also the Clerk to Milton Ernest and Thurleigh Parish Councils and Milton Ernest School, as well as Putnoe! I live in Thurleigh with my husband, two cats, and (occasionally) two grown up children. I have had at least three careers, as a computer programmer/systems analyst, a researcher at Cranfield University, and a housewife and Mum, but what I really love to do is write ? and I live in hope that one day someone will pay to read what I have written!
