Hello! We are the Hawthorn class and our teacher is called Miss. Vyse.  We have a teaching assistant called Mrs. Cartwright and a cleric called Mrs. Pedley.

 

Below is an overview of what we will be learning about this term.

 

Science

Children will learn about forces, including pushes and pulls.  They will investigate how an objects speed can be sped up and slowed down.

 

Geography

Children will learn about the main physical and human features of different localities, and how transport in England compares to that in other countries around the world.

 

Design & Technology

Children will design and make a moving vehicle using different materials.  They will evaluate their work, saying what they like and how it can be improved

 

Art

Children will focus on the visual elements of shape, learning how tone can be used to create a 3D effect.

 

ICT

Children will learn to input directions and commands to make objects move around a screen from one place to another.

 

PE

In gymnastics children will learn to travel in different ways.  In games the children will learning about dribbling, hitting and striking a ball.

 

RE

Children will learn about the festivals of Diwali and Christmas.

 

PSHE

Children will learn about rules, and the importance of following rules both in and out of school.
