The school buildings were opened in 1958 and were originally designed to accommodate two separate school establishments, an infant school and junior school. In 1973 the schools buildings were amalgamated, forming the present Putnoe Lower School.
We have a spacious two-story building set in large, attractive grounds. There are eleven individual classroom units and a large open plan area housing our reception (4+) children. There are two large assembly halls, one of which is currently used as a practical area for music and drama. We also have a well-stocked and attractive library, and an ICT suite with 18 networked PCs and broadband internet connection. An interesting feature of the school is our walled indoor garden. We also have an environmental area with a pond and butterfly garden which provides a valuable learning resource for the pupils. Outside there are three separate playgrounds for the children. The school also accommodates the "Overdale Tots" pre-school within its buildings. Below are some pictures of our school!
